Integrated property and construction company Pindan has taken out top honours in two categories of the WA Master Builders Association Excellence in Construction Awards 2019, for projects in Wanneroo and Wembley.
The group won for Best Retail Building in the $5-$10 million range for its work on the redevelopment of Wanneroo Central Shopping Centre on Wanneroo Rd.
The project featured a more than 2,200 square metre expansion of the Centre to make room for a new ALDI Supermarket, more than a dozen specialty stores, improved toilet facilities, and a new 235-bay car park.
Pindan also snapped up the Best Aged Care Building ($10 to $20 million category) Award for the design and construction of Koh-I-Noor Contemporary Care, a two-level 80 room facility offering exceptional accommodation and high quality care on the corner of Pangbourne and Ruislip Streets in Wembley.
Director Pindan Construction Mark Thompson said the company was delighted with the recognition.
Projects like these deliver better lifestyle, shopping and health solutions for the community and are landmark developments that we’re honoured to be associated with. We pride ourselves on completing facilities like these on time and to an exceptional standard and are thrilled these Awards highlight our ability to do this
Mark Thompson, Director Pindan Construction
Charter Hall Nominees’ Virginia Lloyd said the Pindan team working on the $9 million construction contract at Wanneroo Central was extremely professional and responsive.
Shoppers and retailers experienced minimal disruption while this quality expansion was undertaken and that’s a credit to Pindan

Koh-I-Noor Contemporary Care facility manager Jennifer Neilsen praised Pindan’s skill and efficiency.
We’ve been able to exceed our expectations around occupancy rates for the facility, and this we believe is in part due to the contemporary and quality finish achieved by the Pindan team
Jennifer Neilsen, Koh I Noor Facility Manager
The Awards showcase and reward Master Builders Association members for demonstrating exceptional craftsmanship, commitment to building excellence, and upholding the highest professional standard and were announced at a gala ceremony last Saturday night (July 20) at Crown Perth.
Earlier this year, Pindan was recognised with five awards at the Master Builders-Bankwest Kimberley-Pilbara Building Excellence Awards and, most recently, the Australian Institute of Building 2019 Professional Excellence in Building Awards, which recognise not what was built but how it was built for the Integrated Marine Operations Centre in Port Hedland.
