MYVISTA Aged Care is set to open its second aged care facility in 2020, with the first ground broken on site yesterday.
The $60 million development is located on the corner of Mirrabooka Avenue and Reid Highway in Mirrabooka and is being constructed by award winning property group, Pindan.
The project features a 112-bed aged care facility and ancillary services, new corporate offices, a therapy pool, 45 retirement living apartments, a café, GP practice, pharmacy, physiotherapy and a 24/7 gym.
Chairman for MYVISTA Aged Care, Mr Tony Vallelonga said MYVISTA saw a unique opportunity to integrate their aged care and retirement living offering into a town centre precinct and established local community.
“The location will allow our residents to access local amenities in the area with ease and once completed the project will provide a great addition to the population density of the emerging Mirrabooka Town Centre,” he said.
Given the size of the project, Mr Vallelonga added that MYVISTA had worked closely with National Australia Bank (NAB) Relationship Manager, Stefan Adaszko and Mr Danny Schneider – Health Business Manager to achieve the required financial facility for Stage 1 of the development.

The development is being project managed by Total Project Management and was designed by architects, Silver Thomas Hanley.
Mr Vallelonga said the facility had been designed to move away from the traditional view of retirement living and aged care.

“Considerable thought has been placed around larger living spaces, access to digital technology and our environmental impact,” he said.
“The inclusion of facilities such as pharmacy, café, pool and specialist medical services on site will ease the access for the residents.”
Mr Vallelonga said MYVISTA’s research had indicated that as people move into retirement living, they want to stay connected to the community, which included going to the shops, meeting family and friends for coffee or a meal and visiting the chemist or Doctor.
“We are proud to be offering the local community modern facilities, close to shops and amenities that will enable to them to remain active and socially connected as they age in place,” he said.
Mr Vallelonga added that having retirement living and residential aged care on the same site was also an important consideration in planning the facility.

Director Constructions for Pindan, Mark Thompson, said extensive experience delivering similar facilities, where the specifications require a highly-specialised skill set, placed Pindan in an excellent position to meet the unique needs of the new MYVISTA facility.
“We have worked in consultation with the Project Manager, Total Project Management, the Board and staff of MYVISTA and architects Silver Thomas Hanley to design a state of the art aged care facility and we are excited to see this project take shape,” he said.
