Health Integra has announced the commencement of works for its new venture – The Midland Specialist Centre and Day Surgery which will house State of Art specialist medical & surgical facilities at the Sidings site on the corner of Centennial Place and Yelverton Drive, Midland, WA.
The site is strategically positioned at the gateway to the Health and Knowledge Precinct in Midland. Across from St. John of God Midland Hospital, next to the planned Midland Bus and Rail Transit Station and surrounded by a number of health care providers including the GP Super clinic, Icon Cancer Care, Plus Life Laboratories, a number of Specialist and Allied health services and Curtin Medical School.
The 6000 square metre facility, across three levels, includes high end finishes, substantive onsite parking and end of trip facilities.
The Eastern corridor and the Wheatbelt region has continued to suffer from a lack of access to specialist services and unmet demand for these services will only become more acute as the population grows and ages.
The services to be offered through the new building will be an expansion of specialist services and day surgery procedures in the community to enable better access.
“The building joins an investment of approximately one billion dollars in infrastructure within a 1 km radius in the Health and Knowledge precinct in Midland WA and will enable a savvy investor in the building to leverage off this investment. In addition the building is at the gateway of the precinct, directly across from an operating secondary hospital and major transit station; its position affording unrivalled 360 degree exposure” said Dr Vasantha Preetham, Managing Director Health Integra.
What this will mean for the consumer will be a seamless integration of primary, secondary and all levels of health services through better access, better communication and use of technology. The consumer will find it much easier to navigate the health system. The provision of these services will also offer consumers a variety of choices in the services they use.
Construction of the facility has been awarded to leading construction company, Pindan.
Pindan Business Development Manager James Allingame said the company was delighted to be once again working with Health Integra and Palassis Architects.
Pindan successfully delivered the Midland GP Super Clinic within the existing historic Workshops structure across the road in 2012. We are privileged to be able to breathe new life into the Midland Sidings site and to continue our ‘building on partnerships’ ethos with repeat client, Health Integra.James Allingame
