Pindan Picks up $31M New Education Sector Work

Integrated property and construction group Pindan has picked up $31 million of new work in WA’s education sector.

Pindan Executive Director, Tony Gerber, said the company had secured four new contracts that spanned from Mandurah to the Pilbara.

Pindan has a strong track record in helping WA educational organisations create first-class amenities for students and staff and we’re thrilled to be expanding our footprint in this important sector in 2021

Pindan will carry out nearly $11 million of upgrades at Hedland High School in South Hedland and said works, including an extension to the gymnasium and the internal refurbishment of four existing classrooms, would get underway shortly.

Mr Gerber said a further $10.45 million contract had been secured by Pindan, which encompassed the design and construction of a sporting complex at Frederick Irwin Anglican School in Mandurah.

The project includes construction of a new sports hall, change rooms and ground-level staff room, as well as two classrooms and an exercise area on the upper floor, along with storage and maintenance facilities.

A new 34-bay parking area is also part of the work.

The third education project Pindan is undertaking is at Geraldton Grammar School.

We’re pleased to already be on-site at Geraldton Grammar where we’re building a new $6.27 million gym for the school community. We’ll also be breaking ground soon at Muresk Institute Campus in Northam where we’re designing and constructing two new machinery sheds and fitting out an office, with this expansion project valued at $3.28 million.

“We’ve also just handed over to Corpus Christi College its state-of-the-art aquatic centre – a $4.95 million multi-purpose facility featuring a covered and heated 25m eight-lane indoor lap pool which has been a part of the future vision of the College since the 1990s.”

In 2020, Pindan was honoured for its work expanding and upgrading Carnarvon Community College. The $19.4 million project was named Best Education Building ($10-$20m) as part of the 2020 Master Builders Association (MBA) Building Excellence Awards for the Midwest Region.

This followed the group picking up the award for Best Education Building ($20-$50m) at the MBA WA South-West Building Excellence Awards. This $26.4m project was completed in 2019.
