Aquatic centre works to start

The Onslow Aquatic Centre has moved into the construction phase after Pindan Contracting won the tender to design and construct the McRae Avenue facility.

Shire of Ashburton president Kerry White said the facility was highly anticipated in the community.

“We have appointed Pindan, an experienced Western Australian company, familiar with Onslow to undertake construction."

“Onslow is one step closer to having a local swimming pool and over the coming months residents will begin to see activity on site,” she said.

Wheatstone Project deputy director Duke Snyder said the aquatic centre was an important piece of local infrastructure for the town.

“The aquatic centre will add to local amenity and provide an additional avenue for social and recreational activities,” he said.

The Onslow Aquatic Centre will be located next to Onslow Primary School and will feature a 25m, six-lane swimming pool and amenities.
