Australia’s First Hilton Garden Inn Commences Construction in Albany
Hilton Hotel’s first Australian property under its Garden Inn brand officially commenced construction this morning.
Located opposite the Albany Entertainment Centre and in close proximity to the ANZAC Peace Park and Port, the $24m project
is being built by leading WA property and construction company, Pindan.
The new hotel was designed by Hodge Collard Preston Architects and together with Pindan and Project Manager Total Project Management, the team worked closely with both the City of Albany, local community and Hilton on the design.
Landowner, Paul Lionetti, of Foreshore Investments Albany Pty Ltd (FIA) says the property sets a new benchmark for short-stay accommodation in Albany.
“There is nothing like this in Albany and this new Hilton Garden Inn will provide a new stunning accommodation option on the Albany waterfront.”
“The project has been six years in the making and we would like to thank all parties that assisted in bringing this project to fruition.”
The project is the fourth hotel Pindan has constructed in the last four years. The project is expected to be completed by October 2020.
Managing Director for Pindan, Mr George Allingame, said the company’s proven background in ‘design and construct’ projects had delivered an efficient and buildable design while keeping within the stringent guidelines of the iconic Hilton Garden Inn brand.
The five-storey, 108 room hotel will feature three functions rooms, a restaurant, bar and gym and the project is expected to create 120 local jobs during the construction phase and 20-25 jobs once operational.
