Mahala Ticks Boxes for Purchasers

Before making the switch from a home to an apartment, Tim and Sandra Roux wanted to be sure they were buying in to a community where they could feel like they were on holiday every day, while surrounded by familiar faces.

The couple are among the first purchasers in Mahala Mermaid Beach - a new residential building by Pindan with resort-style facilities, just metres from the ocean and Hedges Avenue.
Mr Roux said Mahala, which means 'neighbourhood', ticked all the boxes in terms of lifestyle, location and design.
"One of the biggest drawcards for us is the fact Mahala is resident-only, unlike many coastal apartment buildings that include an element of short stay accommodation or commercial tenancies. This means we will feel more at home with our neighbours and can become part of a community rather than simply change address"
Mr Roux

"We currently live in a four bedroom waterfront home in Burleigh Waters and we decided to shift to apartment living because we are at the stage in our lives where we don't want to maintain a property on our weekends. We just want to enjoy where we live.
"We are already imagining spending our spare time relaxing by the pool and entertaining guests in the private poolside dining room, or taking the dogs for a run to the park and along the beach.

"The inclusion of a dog wash area, surfboard storage, two parking bays and a secure delivery room for online orders makes us feel like we won't be missing out on anything when we downsize.
"In fact, we are looking forward to gaining a whole new perspective of the Gold Coast as we enjoy a glass of wine on our new balcony which will overlook the ocean, city and hinterland."
Mr Roux said he and his wife considered the Gold Coast 'home' after living in Durban, Sydney and Perth in recent years.
"The Gold Coast is similar to our native Durban in terms of its beautiful climate, and it's got all the atmosphere of a vibrant city without being as busy as the capitals," he said.
"We moved here a couple of years ago and purchased our business, Asset Air Conditioning, and we haven't looked back.
"We have always loved living on the water and appreciate the way Mahala is designed to suit its beachside location. With only three apartments per floor on the upper levels, all living spaces in our apartment open on to a balcony, to capture ocean views, sunlight and breezes."
Mahala's two bedroom, two bathroom, two car bay apartments start from $735,000, with three bedroom, two bathroom, two car bay apartments available from $1.4 million.
One of the two side-by-side four bedroom, three bathroom penthouses with media room, ample storage and stunning outlooks is still available and offers outstanding finishes.
Mahala is being developed by Pindan, which boasts more than 40 years’ experience including expanding its operations to the East Coast over the past five years. Its funds management arm - Pindan Capital - is overseeing $1.7 billion of development projects across Australia.
