New Aquatic Centre for Corpus Christi

Corpus Christi College in Bateman will be home to a new multi-purpose aquatic centre late this year.

Integrated property and construction group Pindan has been awarded the contract to construct the much-anticipated $4.8 million facility, with work now underway.

Designed by Subiaco-based EIW Architects, the centre features a covered and heated 25 metre, eight-lane indoor lap and water polo pool, a separate 12 metre learn-to-swim pool, and terrace seating for 180 people.

The College’s acting principal Frank Italiano said the building of a swimming pool had been a part of the future vision of the College since the 1990s.

With 1,300 students across Years 7-12, the co- educational College has long enjoyed a strong sports culture. After years of utilising pools at local leisure centres, it is hoped the new centre will develop the aquatic skills of all students and facilitate more rigorous training for the swimming and water polo squads

General Manager Pindan Projects Simon Greenlaw said the group was excited to be part of the future of Corpus Christi College.

This is a state-of-the-art facility that will no doubt be a wonderful addition to the school community for students, families and staff and we’re thrilled to be part of making the centre a reality. With work already underway, we are aiming for the centre to be finished within the year
Simon Greenlaw, Pindan Projects General Manager
