Viridian, China Green sets benchmark in exceptional design

Located within Subiaco’s Australian Fine China precinct which for over 85 years was used for the manufacture of china and porcelain, Viridian is an example of a new development which pays homage to and respects the history of the site whilst utilising innovative and sustainable design principles to protect its future.

All apartments exude the quality and features you would expect, including stone benchtops, European appliances, efficient reverse cycle air conditioning, audio visual intercom, CCTV security and secure underground parking. With Subiaco Common on your doorstep and transport, dining and entertainment just metres away, buyers have loved the fact that they are in easy walking distance to every amenity they could need, yet in a peaceful, inner city suburb.

Quality of space is important at Viridian, which has been achieved by splitting the building mass into two stand alone buildings. This has improved solar passive design principles, created breeze paths and offered spectacular view corridors to public art pieces and landscaped streetscapes within the AFC precinct.

2017 UDIA Awards for Excellence.
Gym Facilities

The development features a number of common facilities, including a fully equipped gym with steam room, landscaped podium deck and the expansive rooftop terrace that includes multiple entertaining spaces, BBQ’s and a Teppanyaki bar that boasts breathtaking 180 degree views of Kings Park, Perth City and sunset views.

Pindan’s Development Manager, Mr Tim Cummins, said the key project highlights of heritage, architecture and sustainability demonstrates an exceptional & successful outcome for residents.

The historical aspect of the site was important to us, we wanted to integrate and display original industrial machinery that was once used at AFC and this narrative extended to and influenced the external architecture and materiality used in the building
Tim Cummins

Heritage features of the site have been either retained or re-interpreted and include the incorporation  of the original Calyx Building walls as the main entrance to the development, as well as two large pieces of machinery (the jaw crusher and edge runner mill) that have been recovered from the original site and now feature prominently within the podium deck landscaping. Recycled heritage state bricks have also been re purposed and used throughout which not only respects the former use of the site but also ties  in with the architecture and industrial vernacular applied to facades and common areas.

Pindan is proud of its latest apartment development Viridian China Green which sets the standard for AFC and the next staged development Indigo, China Green
