Good time for first homebuyers

Taking advantage of all-time low interest rates was a key factor in Rodger Yeo’s decision to buy a house-and-land package in new boutique Canning Vale estate, Botanica by Pindan.

Mr Yeo liked that he could purchase a low-maintenance single-storey, four-bedroom, two-bathroom home with plenty of space and parking, rather than an apartment or townhouse.

“It really is the best time to enter the market if your finances allow,” he said.

Mr Yeo said Canning Vale was an established area with short commute times to the city and airport and readily available public transport and lifestyle options, including two shopping areas within a five-minute drive of the estate.

“Lack of public transportation and amenities are common issues when purchasing in newer estates, which also tend to be further away from the city,” he said.

“Construction of the Metronet Thornlie-Cockburn Link will commence shortly, so hopefully this will improve commute times and resale value of the property in the future.”
