Close to Freo

Well serviced

Kardinya is just a short drive from private St John of God Hospital, the St John of God Wexford Medical Centre and the public Fiona Stanley Hospital. Residents are well placed to take advantage of the new health precinct due to be developed nearby.

Shopping up a storm

Fremantle is not the only amenity close to Kardinya. With more than 200 stores including Myer, David Jones, Woolworths and Coles the iconic Garden City shopping centre is an established shopping mecca. Over the next few years, a redevelopment will see the centre nearly double in size becoming WA’s largest fashion and leisure precinct.

Off Leach Highway, the massive Bunnings Melville and furniture, lifestyle and leisure retailers such as Rebel Sport, Freedom, Kitchen Warehouse, Spotlight and JB Hi-fi are all just a five-minute drive away from The Heights.

Kardinya Park Shopping Centre, in the heart of Kardinya, offers Coles and Kmart and several banks plus a variety of food, fashion and specialist retailers. Aldi supermarket is on South Street and Winthrop Village, which includes a Super IGA, is a two-minute drive away.

Time outdoors

With more than 45 hectares of parkland, including the beautiful Frederick Baldwin Park, it is easy to get outdoors in Kardinya.

Morris Buzacott Reserve, on Williamson Road, has cricket tennis, football, exercise equipment and a playground all available and is dog friendly. The Melville City Hockey Club, with turf facilities for children and adult players, is just next door.

Piney Lakes Reserve and the fantastic Sensory Playground are just next door in Winthrop.

The daily commute

Whether work takes you to the CBD or Fremantle or somewhere in between, Kardinya is perfectly placed. South of Perth city, this long-established suburb has great access to all major roads to quickly get you to where you need to be by car or public transport. The entrance to the Kwinana Freeway is just a short drive away.

Kardinya is well serviced by bus with regular services to Perth, Fremantle and Murdoch Railway Station to connect to the train line.

The school run

With a great mix of government and private options, Kardinya has your education needs well and truly covered.

Two government primary schools, Kardinya and Samson, a range of secondary school options including Corpus Christi College, Kennedy Baptist College, Murdoch College and Seton Catholic College are all close by. All Saints College, is just a short drive away in Bull Creek. North Lake Senior Campus, for Year 11 and 12 students, is ideally located on Winterfold Road in Kardinya.

Post school options abound with Murdoch University and Challenger TAFE- Murdoch in the area and Notre Dame University close by in Fremantle.

Dining out

For Kardinya locals wanting to eat out, Fremantle is just a drive away but the suburb also has its own favourites with the Kardinya Tavern (the Kardy), several Asian cafes and restaurants and the highly rated Green Olives wood fire Pizzeria.
