The aptly named Little Mermaid is the perfect coastal dining spot for a casual meal, coffee/drink or how about Door 50 (located at the northern end of Mermaid Beach) for a bite to eat?
Other mouth-watering options include Bam Bam Bakehouse, Koko Coffee Roasters and for some Australian cuisine, The North Room is a good pick.

The Surf Parade dining precinct is a short drive away, where an array of drink and food options are on offer.


For a spot of retail therapy, Pacific Fair Shopping Centre in Broadbeach is only less than 10 minutes to walk.

Here you will find one of the country’s largest shopping centres with everything from high-end fashion, two supermarkets, a David Jones, Kmart, Target, Myer, as well as a dining and entertainment precinct. 


For a night out, Australia’s five star ‘fun parlour,’ The Star Gold Coast is a short 15 minute stroll from Mahala. There are no shortage of options for a fun evening, with the renowned casino, bars, entertainment precincts, theatre, concerts and restaurants at your fingertips.

A short distance away is the bustling Broadbeach where the surf, parks, and weekend markets offer a perfect weekend or weekday venture!

On the first and third Sunday of the month, you can peruse an array of local arts and crafts at the Coast Markets.

For a picnic or family fun adventure, riverside Cascade Gardens is a great choice with its barbecue and sheltered picnic spots.

With its foreshore backdrop, Pratten Park is a popular choice for a picnic with its shaded playground and activities for children, including a powered monorail and pirate ship.

And there are plenty of dining and retail stores throughout the bustling Broadbeach precinct.
